Appearance

The first impression of the gadget's appearance: a typical product from Aliexpress, but this is only a first impression. Twisting in his hands and trying on an accessory, it seemed to me very promising.

Perhaps this form of glasses is not suitable for everyone, but for ease of use, some will definitely make aesthetic sacrifices. But about ergonomics a bit later ...

The soft-touch plastic frame does not seem massive, and is equipped with neat lens mounts. The lens itself is solid and also made of plastic. And do not be confused by the abundance of plastic parts, because modern materials are durable and wear-resistant.

By the way, the manufacturer offers as an option a transparent "chameleon" lens for the dark and I would advise you to order it immediately.

Both lenses protect against harmful UV rays, and the polarizing effect will especially appeal to the fishermen and will allow them to catch the eye. This effect can be easily verified using the included tester.

At the first fitting, the glasses "sat down" not in the best way, and the regulation of the nasal pads seemed a dangerous adventure. The thing is that the material of their fastening is very unlike metal and it seems a trifle to break it. Armed with instructions, we find out that adjustment is provided and with trembling hands we gently bend a little wider. Well, now the glasses are sitting like family. Regulating the second and third time seemed no longer so scary.

Features and Functionality

In the temporal region of the right arch there is a control unit in the form of a “rocker” switch, a micro-usb port, a microphone hole and a light indication of charging / pairing of the device.

The rocker is responsible for turning on the device, pairing with the phone and adjusting the volume.

The micro-usb port serves not only for charging, but also for connecting headphones, which are two types in the kit: mono and stereo. The size of the inserts is average, but unfortunately there are no replaceable silicone nozzles of other sizes in the kit.

Under the XRide logo on the left arm is the touch control module, its functions:

• short touch to pause / pause playback;
• forward / backward - previous / next song, respectively;
• forward / backward at the time of an incoming call - reject / answer.

To control the voice, hold your finger for about 2 seconds. The function works correctly on iPhone and Samsung smartphones. On my Sony Xperia Z, voice control refused to work.

It is worth noting that all touches are recognized correctly, and getting a finger into the desired area is not difficult, thanks to a special shape in the form of a small cavity.

I would also like to note the sound quality of the headphones, it is quite suitable not only for conversations, but also for comfortable listening to music. But this is only true if you are not a demanding music lover.

Headphones are held firmly and from the side it all looks quite aesthetically pleasing.

Options and prices

What really pleased from the first minutes of acquaintance with the glasses was their equipment. Not every branded product is so “packaged”.

The glasses are placed in a very convenient and high-quality bag, a cover, an interchangeable lens (option) in a plastic bag, and headphones in a zip bag. The box also contains instructions in Russian, a test card and a cloth for cleaning lenses. The USB charging cord is flat, and I must say it gives personality.

A review of the prices of XRide smart glasses showed that you can buy them for 4 000 rubles (at the time of writing) in the official online store of the manufacturer or for the same money in stores in Moscow and St. Petersburg.

Analysis of the few online reviews about the company and the product allows us to conclude that smart glasses appeal to customers.

Whether this accessory can become popular in the Russian market, time will tell. We liked it and he will certainly find application.
